Sometimes, your passion weaves through your life’s journey and dreams like a red thread. And if you are very lucky, this red thread will lead you to a place where you actually get to live your dream. For us, this place is Jacaranda Wine Estate in Wellington.
Having both been born and raised in wine-growing areas, the wine was always part of our lives and when you love wine and travel the world, the wine will always give you a taste of a county’s culture and soul.
Work and studies have brought us to many countries. China will always have a special place in our hearts, having worked and lived there for over a decade.
It was work that brought us from Shanghai to South Africa, where we put down our roots and our dream of running our own wine farm and cellar all of a sudden became much closer.
After starting a wine-import business into China in 2009, we found Jacaranda Wine Estate in Wellington. It took one year of extensive renovations before we were able to welcome our first guests to the cottage. Then followed the cellar renovation and partial replanting of the vineyard. The maiden vintage in the new cellar was in 2013.
In the meanwhile, we do offer a range of beautiful, handcrafted wines, made in our boutique cellar. We are also very proud to be the smallest registered Wine Estate in South Africa.
