Waverley Hills Organic Wine & Olive Estate is situated on the R46 between Wolseley and Ceres.

We were on a weekend getaway in Wolseley and decided we’d like to go hiking and ‘birding’. After ending up at Bergsig Estate who had a birding trail, we chose Waverley Hills for a relaxed wine tasting & lunch.

I don’t recall ever tasting Waverley Hills before this visit, but we were pleasantly surprised by the fine quality of wine.

Our favourites

We decided to stock up on two of our favourites in the tasting which were the SMV 2013 and Reserve Shiraz 2015. The SMV, in particular, is a multi-award winner including 4-star Platter & gold at the International Organic Wine Awards with title: Best Organic Wine in the World.

Apart from a great wine tasting with a knowledgeable staff member, we had an excellent lunch in their well-run restaurant. The food is excellent and we can recommend a visit!

We also noted that there is a trail for hiking on the estate, so we’ll definitely be back one day to do the trek.
